Sliced Roasted Eel (Unagi Kabayaki) for Sushi

Short Description:

Our eel slices are made from select fresh eel using advanced processing. Ready to eat after thawing and heating, they can be enjoyed over rice as unadon, or as an appetiser alongside drinks.

How to make eel nigiri sushi:

  1. Shape warm sushi rice into small oblong pieces (nigiri).
  2. Place a slice of roasted eel on top of each.
  3. Tie with a thin strip of nori seaweed to secure.
  4. Finish with a drizzle of our kabayaki sauce — and your eel nigiri is ready to serve.

The eel is tender and full-flavoured, its delicate meat complemented by the rich, savoury glaze. Heated in the microwave for about 5 minutes, it turns juicy and succulent — a satisfying taste of authentic kabayaki at home.

Nutritional Value

Eel is naturally rich in vitamins A and E, and also provides high-quality protein, calcium, phospholipids, and the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA.

  • Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
  • Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
  • Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.
  • DHA and EPA contribute to the normal function of the heart (beneficial effects are obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA).

With its tender texture and rich flavour, eel is a delicious way to add these nutrients to a varied, balanced diet — a food the whole family can enjoy.
